THE SOAP GIRLS
The SoapGirls are a French-born, South African-raised alternative rock duo consisting of sisters Noemie “Mie” Debray (guitar, vocals) and Camille “Mille” Debray (bass, vocals). Distinguished by their “Revolt Rock” sound and a strictly independent “DIY” ethos, the sisters are the sole architects of their career—writing, arranging, and producing 100% of their musical catalogue, management, and visual identity themselves
The duo first gained public attention as child street performers in Cape Town, singing and selling handmade soap to benefit local hospitals—an origin that provided both their name and their reputation for social action.
