Refugee Dream Center is a nonprofit that was founded in 2015 by Dr. Omar Bah and Teddi Jallow, former refugees from The Gambia. Refugee Dream Center is engaged in the reception, placement, and post-resettlement of refugees from around the world. RDC offers direct services, including case management, interpreting, food assistance, housing assistance, employment assistance, and youth mentoring. RDC also offers a number of classes, including English, digital and financial literacy, citizenship, and health promotion classes. In the past 10 years, Refugee Dream Center has served and advocated for thousands of refugees and asylum seekers and assisted them in becoming self-sufficient as they settle and build their lives in Rhode Island.
Donations the RDC receives go towards tangible things such as rental assistance, bus passes, and food assistance for community members.
