GAINED IN TRANSLATION EARLY SHOW ALL AGES

Gained in Translation” will perform at the Parlour (1119 Main St., Providence) next Friday June 24, 6-8:30. The band performs songs in French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Japanese, German, Yiddish, Romani, Swahili. Most of the songs are performed with their covers in English or another language. Musicians: Chris Brooks (lead guitar) Julie Fischer (bass) Eric Hastings (drums) Maurice Methot (rhythm guitar, vocals) Victoria Richter (accordeon, vocals). The band has been donating most of the proceeds from their performances to a Sloika bakery in Ivano Frankivsk, Ukraine. Several paintings by a folk artist and on the Ukrainian theme an electric guitar will be auctioned during the break at the performance. The concert is free. Donations are welcome. Parlour serves food and drinks and is a cozy venue for many local bands.
