A IS FOR AWESOME returns on April 12th to The Parlour. Over the past 10 years we have raised money for SURFERS HEALING, RHD, THE TRUDEAU CENTER, THE AUTISM PROJECT, and POSITIVE SYNERGY. recently we were introduced to a fairly new non-profit in Ashaway RI called GAITS OF HARMONY. They provide therapeutic horse riding for children and young adults with physical and developmental disabilities. About half of their students are on the autism spectrum. 100% of the money raised at this year’s event will be donated to Gaits for feed, tack, and other supplies. Gaits of Harmony currently serves 40 clients with varying disABILITIES and along with riding skills they teach communication, strength building, muscle development, stretching, coordination, teamwork, sensory stimulation, and provide a calm therapeutic environment while doing the lessons. Can’t wait to see everyone raise money for a great cause!
