Kyoshii / Dave Murphy Quartet Live Jazz Sundays 8pm

Saxophonist Dave Murphy (of Baba Yaga) brings his quartet to join forces with Kyoshii for an electrifying night of live music-
featuring jams that cross musical borders, challenge genre norms, and groove like mad. Jazz, soul, hiphop, funk, fusion… it’s all happening.
Dave Murphy has played and recorded with bands including Swing Lane, Sauce, The Free Funk All-Stars, Kim Trusty, Tish Adams, Take it to the Bridge, Bittersweet Band, Joe Potenza, The Seth Burkhart 4, and The Alchemystics, as well leading his own group, Baba Yaga. On this night, he will be joined by Clay Nordhill (guitar), Evan Carley (bass), and Matt Walshe (drums).
Kyoshii, on course to release their album debut in Spring ’18, are a Providence-based project with roots in jazz, reggae, hiphop, latin, and pop. Though relative newcomers to the music scene, its members have been writing material together since the mid 2000s. Kyoshii is Greg Takemoto (sax), Pete Jeffrey (drums), Geo Leonard (guitar) and Cameron Greenlee (keys). The night will feature special guest vocalists, including Neil Letendre, Chachi Carvalho and Sarah Brindell.
Kyoshii plays at 8 PM, the Dave Murphy Quartet at 10 PM.
